POEMS:

TO MY DADDY
(a poem written for my husband's father on his 75th. birthday)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOTHER
(a poem written for my Mother-in-law on her birthday. My husband provided the ideas and sentiments)
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DADDY
(written for my Dad, Father's Day, 1993
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM
(with love to my Mother on her 75th. Birthday)
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
(I wrote this little poem last Christmas Eve (2002) before the family all gathered to celebrate the holidays together on Christmas Day. This was the first Christmas we'd been together at home since Daddy died, and it seemed fitting to write something special for the occasion.)

SONGS (most with mid files):

ODE TO BOB AND SUE
(This poem/song combination was written for our Minister of Music on his 10th. Anniversary)
NAKED SOLDIER
(This is one of the first songs I ever wrote. We had been studying Ephesians Chap. 6 in our Sunday School class, and the idea for this song from Vs. 13-17 just came to me. It's sung in a minor key so gives it a different sound from what I normally wrote.)
BABCOCK'S STORE SONG
(A song written to use as the theme song at our shop.
GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY SONG
(The words and music both were written in honor of my parents' 50th. wedding anniversary. It was a total surprise to them, and this song pretty well tells the story of their lives together.)
BLUE GRASS IN MENA
(A song written to celebrate the good times picking and grinning in Mena, AR with a bunch of great musicians.)
25th. ANNIVERSARY
(I played this on my autoharp at the Anniversary party and my sister, Donna, joined right in on the chorus. Even when I put the 'harp in the trunk for the ride to the hall, she didn't suspect I was doing a song for her.)

MARTIN ADLER ANNIVERSARY
(I wrote this in about an hour after my uncle asked me to come up with something that he could play for my aunt on their real anniversary in November. This gathering was held in August at their summer place up north in Wisconsin.)

I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN
(A fantastic piano player and I wrote this song to sing at our church one Sunday. See the additional note at the end of that page.)

80th. BIRTHDAY
(We surprised my Mom on her 80th. birthday in 1997, and I wrote this song for her to the tune of one of her old favorites, "Out Behind the Barn")

DAWN AND GREG'S WEDDING SONG
(I wrote these words to sing at Greg Peterson and Dawn Bleisner's wedding reception - November, 1998.)

FILL ME HOLY SPIRIT, FILL ME
(Our pastor read this little poem (chorus part) one Sunday evening after his message on the Holy Spirit. I thought, "that would make a wonderful praise chorus", and the melody just popped into my head. After I sang it for him, he told me that he thought it needed a couple verses as well, so this is what God gave me. It ministers to my heart everytime I sing it. I hope it will to you as well. Be sure to click on the 'Listen to the Tune', to hear how it goes.)

HERB ADLER ANNIVERSARY
(We surprised my aunt and uncle at their 50th. anniversary in July 2001, and I sang this song for them during the dance. The party was actually right on their anniversary so that made it even more special. Uncle Herb actually was the one who first sang "I Like Stinky Cheese" to my sister and I. He used to work in a cheese factory so I guess the song really fit. You can find the lyrics and tune to it on my lyrics page.)

A PICTURE OF GOOD FRIDAY
(During the Lord's Supper Service at our church, our pastor encouraged us to spend some time Good Friday, especially from noon to 3:00 PM, to meditate on the crucifixion and what it means to us as Christians. So on the way home from town, as I began thinking about this, the words to this song just started coming to mind. I hurried home and wrote them down before I forgot it. I've included the melody as well, so you have an idea how it goes.)

NOWHERE ELSE TO GO
(I wrote this on the way to my job one morning, just after receiving notice that I was to be unemployed in a couple of weeks due to cutbacks. I needed my job, and didn't know what I was going to do without the income I'd been bringing in, and in the midst of my trouble, God gave me this song. Perhaps it will help you sometime as well.)
DELORES & ED KANNEBERG ANNIVERSARY
(I wrote this for my aunt and uncle around their 60th. anniversary instead of for the 50th. like the others I'd done. Then, when they came down to Oklahoma to visit my mother in 2006, I played and sang it for her. She liked it a lot and used to peck it out on the organ that was in her room in the assisted living home they were at.)

In addition to the above listed songs, I have been privileged to write music for several songs written totally or in part by a dear lady from our church. I have sung and recorded most of them on a CD, and we are adding to the collection as God gives us the words and the music.

Here is a list of these songs with .mid files attached for you to enjoy.
