MOM'S 80TH. BIRTHDAY

(Sung to the tune of "Out Behind the Barn")
Listen to the tune

1. Helen lived most all her life out on Howard's Farm,
She was a mother and a wife out on Howard's farm.
She came here as a teenage girl,
And set our Daddy's heart a-whirl
Never dreaming her new world was there on Howard's farm.

2. Mother used to milk the cows out on Howard's farm,
She spend her last 60 years out on Howard's farm.
She's walked a million miles or more
Between the barn and our back door,
No wonder that her hip got sore out on Howard's farm.

CHORUS:
Well, we met our little Mother out on Howard's farm.
That was our whole world, yessiree.
She was our special treasure out on Howard's farm
And she showed us what we really ought to be.

3. She raised two daughters very well out on Howard's farm
Though at times we gave her w-e-l-l-l-l- out on Howard's farm.
She used to call us 'fightin' cocks"
And tried to give our ears a box,
Surprised she didn't knock our blocks off out on Howard's farm.

4. She taught us how to cook and clean, out on Howard's farm
And not to treat each other mean, out on Howard's farm.
We lived and laughed and loved a lot
Tho' sometimes Mother got real hot
But all the bad stuff's been forgot out on Howard's farm.

CHORUS:
Well, we met our little Mother out on Howard's farm.
That was our whole world, yessiree.
She was our special treasure out on Howard's farm
And she showed us what we really ought to be.

5. Well, now you're eighty, Mother dear, and still on Howard's farm.
We're sure glad that you're still here out on Howard's farm.
You've got a lot of kick left yet,
But you're eighty, don't forget,
So save a little of your pep to use on Howard's farm.

CHORUS:
Well, we met our little Mother out on Howard's farm.
That was our whole world, yessiree.
She was our special treasure out on Howard's farm
And she showed us what we really ought to be.
